"Rhythms of Serendib" Dinner Dance featuring Chandimal Fernando & 2nd Connection & Darleen

Famous Sri Lankan Musician Chandimal Fernando with his fabulous band 2nd connection, & magnificent Dalreen Suby mesmerized a packed audience with their sensational dance music on September 6th 2008 at the Universal City Sheraton (Hotel of the stars). It was a memorable evening for all the attendees who enjoyed a fantastic night of entertainment.

Sri Lankan Ambassador to the United States His Excellency Hon. Jaliya Wickramasuriya graced the occasion as the chief guest all the way from Washington DC. Guests included fans from California and neighboring states Nevada, Arizona, and Oregon.
A professional dance group entertained the guests with intermittent exhibition dance performances of Batchaha, Salsa, Tango, Modern Ballet, African, and Samba.  Paper dance competition and sing-a-long session with the band were some popular items of the night.  The fun-filled night included surprises & valuable prizes for the guests.
Rhythms of Serendib was held as a fundraiser to launch the scholarship program SAVIYA (strength) initiated by Serendib Foundation.

63rd Sri Lankan Independence Day in Los Angeles sponsored by Sri Lanka Consulate in Los Angeles is scheduled to be held at the Carpenter Performing Arts Center Auditorium 6200 Atherton St., Long Beach, CA 90815 on Saturday, February 05th, 2011 at 6:00pm.

Serendib Foundation for Music & Performing Arts is producing the Sri Lankan Cultural Program at the Independence Day for the 4th consecutive year.
Admission is Free, but seats are limited.
